Daniel Bryan showed his mean side outside the WWE ring when he subdued a burglar who broke into his Arizona home.
Reuters via the New York Post reported on Friday that the 33-year old Bryan was returning home on Thursday night when he ran after two suspects who were headed towards the rear door. The former WWE champion was able to catch one of the burglars, 22-year old Cesar Sosa.
The Phoenix Police Department revealed that there was a struggle inside Bryan's house but the wrestler was able to detain the suspect. Sosa was taken into custody by police officers who came to Bryan's rescue. Unfortunately the second suspect was able to get away.
Bryan said he was angry to learn that someone had burglarized his home. He and his wife, Brie Bella, had just moved into the Phoenix mansion just 10 days ago. He also said he was worried for his French bulldog.
According to Bryan's account, he chased the burglar for about 400 feet, grabbed him and shouted some invectives. He also used a wrestling move-the rear naked choke hold--- to be able to subdue the suspect.
In a news conference, Bryan was quoted as saying about the suspect: "He was very, very tired and it literally took zero effort to take him down. He put up very little resistance."
Interestingly, Bryan said he was a bit ashamed that he took matters into his own hands.
