New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has been cleared to play in the 2014 season and will not start the season on the active/physically unable to perform list.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick said Wednesday that Gronk should be all systems go for training camp and everything that follows after being medically cleared. Before receiving the news, Gronk had said that he plans to play the entire season in 2014 and that he wont be limited at all following major knee surgery.

Gronkowski underwent surgery on his right ACL on January 9 and was limited to only seven games in the 2013 season. Many Patriots reacted to the good news and said they can’t wait for the dynamic tight end to get back on the field.

"It's a positive," said veteran offensive lineman Logan Mankins, one of the Patriots' captains. "We were all hoping Gronk would have a good recovery, and so far he has. Any time you can have Gronk on the field, it's great.”

Gronk’s teammates said that the best thing about the tight end is his personality and that his work ethic gets lost in all the media attention surrounding his social life.

"Gronk is Gronk. 'Yo soy fiesta,' right?" defensive end Rob Ninkovich said. "Personality-wise, he's one of the best guys you could ever meet. He's a great guy off the field who will say hi to anybody and do anything for you.”

Gronkowski and Saints tight end Jimmy Graham are considered the top two players at their position when healthy. Gronk is looking to put together a full season on the field for the first time since 2011.
