There hasn't been much good news out of wide receiver Josh Gordon’s camp since his recent run in’s with the law, but he is gaining some support in his corner. Gordon’s agent Drew Rosenhaus plans to sit down with the Cleveland Browns and discuss the future of his client.

Rosenhaus spoke with Mary Kay Cabot of The Plain Dealer and said he expects to speak to the Browns about Jabaal Sheard, but wants to have conversations with the team concerning their star receiver.

"I'm sure I'll get together with the Browns at some point before training camp to talk to them some more about all of our clients," Rosenhaus said "We're talking to them about Jabaal Sheard and a contract extension and I'm sure we'll talk about Josh some more and continue to work together and do the best job we can for him collectively.”

Rosenhaus said he expects Gordon’s appeal hearing to be in the near future and all previous reports have pointed to a meeting to be at the end of July. Gordon was facing a season-long suspension for a failed drug test before he was arrested for suspicion of DWI.

The receiver's appeal could be thrown out if the NFL and NFL Players Association agree to a deal on a reduced suspension for Gordon, but it is unknown how likely that outcome is.

Despite playing in only 14 games, Gordon caught 87 balls for a league high 1646 yards with nine touchdowns. Gordon is seen as one of the brightest young stars in the NFL, but his frequent off the field issues could cut that promising career short.
