The Oscar Pistorius murder trial is on break until the August 7-8 closing arguments, but the “Blade Runner” is making headlines in South Africa after he was involved in an altercation at a nightclub. No one was hurt but mixed accounts of the incident have some raising their eyebrows about the murder trial.

USA Today reports that an incident took place in a trendy nightclub in Johannesburg, South Africa after a drunk Pistorius was confronted by a man who was aggressively questioning the former Olympian about the murder trial. Spokeswoman for the Pistorius family, Anneliese Burgess, released a statement concerning the incident.

"The individual, according to my client, started to aggressively interrogate him on matters relating to the trial. An argument ensued during which my client asked to be left alone," she said in a statement. "Oscar soon thereafter left the club with his cousin. My client regrets the decision to go to a public space and thereby inviting unwelcome attention.”

The Star, a Johannesburg paper, reported that the man who approached Pistorius is named Jared Mortimer and he recalled the incident much differently than Pistorius. Mortimer maintains that Pistorius was insulting his friends as well as talking badly about the South African president, Jacob Zuma. Mortimer is close friends with a member of the Zuma family and said he simply could not stand by while Pistorius spoke about his friends in such a manner.

"He was poking me and saying that I would never get the better of him," the newspaper quoted Mortimer as saying. "He was close to my face and at that point I pushed him to get him away from me. A chair was behind his legs and he fell to the ground."

Pistorius also broke his Twitter silence on Monday but tweeting several quotations such as "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted," as well as, ”Lord, today I ask that you bathe those who live in pain in the river of your healing. Amen." Pistorius later deleted the tweets and their authenticity has yet to be confirmed.

The closing arguments of the Oscar Pistorius murder trial is set for August 7-8.
