UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey is unlikely to appear at SummerSlam on Aug. 17 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles after rumors circulated that the WWE wanted her to take part in the event.

UFC Star Rashad Evans Addresses Rumors Of WWE Interest

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, word came down in the WWE that the event won't feature "Rowdy" and her status is unlikely to change.

UFC President Dana White is not a fan of having his fighters appear at WWE events and doesn't want any of them to be affiliated with the company. At the same time, Rousey wanted her whole "Four Horsewomen" group to appear at the WWE's biggest summer event but the WWE only wanted her.

Jim Ross Discusses Sting Rumors And Daniel Bryan's Injury

Rousey is a WWE fan and even joked on Twitter about joining Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose as the third member of The Shield after Seth Rollins turned heel by abandoning the group and hitting them with steel chairs last month.

The expected main event for SummerSlam is a WWE World Heavyweight Championship bout featuring John Cena against Brock Lesnar. Lesnar is expected to come into SummerSlam fresh off of ending The Streak of The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX to contend for the belt.

The WWE is reportedly also working on three other big matches for the event as aside from the planned Lesnar vs. Cena match, there is expected to be Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton, Chris Jericho vs. Bray Wyatt and Stephanie McMahon vs. Brie Bella.

Reigns was rumored to face Triple H at the event, but it is now likely that the WWE will have Reigns battle Orton and save his clash with Triple H for Night of Champions on Sept. 21 to coincide with WWE Network subscribers renewing their subscriptions at the six-month mark.

Jericho and Wyatt are slated to face each other at the Battleground event this Sunday, but their feud will likely be a lengthy one that will stretch into SummerSlam. It was originally rumored that the company would save their match for the August event, but they have decided to have them go toe-to-toe at Battleground.

McMahon and Bella have been feuding over her treatment of injured Superstar Daniel Bryan and it is likely that the two will square off with Bella's job on the line after McMahon fired her recently on television.

WWE SummerSlam airs live on Aug. 17 from the Staples Center in Los Angeles and while there are a lot of big matches expected to be booked for the show, Rousey is unlikely to appear.
