It appears likely that the most electrifying man in sports entertainment won't be appearing at WrestleMania 31 next March at Levi's Stadium in the Bay Area due to scheduling conflicts.
Sting Unlikely To Appear On RAW Monday Despite Twitter Tease
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, who took a seven-year hiatus from the company but has appeared at four straight WrestleManias since then, likely will not be available to attend the Show of Shows in 2015.
According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, it's looking more and more likely that The Rock will have to skip WrestleMania 31 due to the fact that he will be booked all over the world a few weeks before the event to promote Fast 7 and the movie release has been pushed up from April 10 to April 3 while WrestleMania is on March 29.
The Rock was a huge part of the biggest event of the year in the late 90's and early 2000s, main eventing in WrestleManias XV, 2000 and X-7, having a memorable battle with Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania X-8, facing "Stone Cold" Steve Austin in his final match at WrestleMania XIX and then teaming up with Mick Foley in a losing effort to Evolution at WrestleMania XX.
The Rock then disappeared from the WWE to pursue movies full time before coming back to host WrestleMania XXVII and then battling John Cena in back-to-back events at WrestleManias XXVIII and XXIX. The Rock made a special appearance at WrestleMania XXX on April 6 alongside Austin and Hulk Hogan in New Orleans as all three legends opened up the show.
Now, it seems the streak of four straight WrestleMania appearances will come to an end in 2015 despite the fact that Levi's Stadium issued a poster to promote the event with The Rock, Brock Lesnar and Batista on it.
Batista is currently on hiatus to promote the upcoming Marvel movie Guardians of the Galaxy but is expected back by SummerSlam next month while Lesnar is also on hiatus of his part-time deal but will be back for SummerSlam as well, likely facing John Cena for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
It's uncertain what Batista's role will be at the event but early rumors for WrestleMania 31 pit Lesnar against Roman Reigns in what would give Reigns his big babyface moment.
While The Rock is on the poster for the event, which can be seen here, it is likely something the venue threw together as a place holder until the WWE provides them with a new one with more current full-time stars on it.
There were rumors that The Rock may be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2015 but it is now seen as an unlikely scenario.
It is likely that the Bay Area won't smell what The Rock is cookin' on March 29 at WrestleMania 31.
