New Milwaukee Bucks coach Jason Kidd says he is impressed with the support that Bucks fans have given to the team, citing this as the main reason why he went to the club after one year in Brooklyn.

Part of Kidd's statement, released by the Bucks through its Twitter account, read via ESPN:
"With a talented roster, new owners that are passionate about being successful in Milwaukee, and a great fan base, we have the makings of something special here and I'm proud to be leading this new era of Bucks basketball.

The Nets great is said to have signed a $15 million deal over three years to coach the Bucks. This after he asked and failed to get more power in player personnel decision. Nets management declined his request.

This led to his agent Jeff Schwartz to reach out to the Bucks. Nets officials gave the Bucks permission to interview Kidd, and was traded eventually.

Kidd has denied that he attempted a power play in Brooklyn. He was replaced by ex-Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins.

Kidd will now coach one of the youngest teams in the league in contrast to his one year stay in Brooklyn which has one of the oldest rosters in the NBA. The Bucks drafted 19-year old Jabari Parker with the second overall pick in this year's draft.

Kidd's letter also read: "From the moment that Marc Lasry and Wes Edens purchased this franchise, they have clearly and repeatedly stated their singular focus -- to return championship-caliber basketball to Wisconsin. I am humbled by the trust they have put in me and the opportunity they have given me to turn that dream into reality."
