Wane Rooney has finally done it. He scored his first World Cup goal ever, shortly after the 75' mark in their crucial matchup with Uruguay to tie the match up at one goal apiece. The goal was his 40th all-time for the English, but at the moment it hit the back of the net few have been as important.

Defender Glen Johnson served up a pretty pass through a Uruguayan's legs for Rooney, who was able to push a shot past Uruguayan goalkeeper Fernando Muslera in a one-on-one situation. The goal was sweet release for Rooney, as he'd been aggressive throughout the match up until that point. The shot was his fourth attempt, and second shot on goal.

Unfortunately for England, Uruguay retook the lead less than 10 minutes later.
