Now that Serena Williams has resurrected Caroline Wozniacki's career, Wozniacki could be in a position to pay back the world's No. 1 player.

Serena Williams and Caroline Wozniacki spend a weekend crashing a wedding and cheering for the Miami Heat.

Tennistuesday.net speculated that the new friendship that Wozniacki and Williams formed after Serena took Wozniacki to Miami to forget about her love life that the two could become doubles partners at Wimbledon.

The partnership sounds far-fetched, at least initially, because one important cog is ignored in that scenario - Serena's older sister Venus.

The Williams sisters have won 13 Grand Slam doubles titles and three Olympic gold medals. Venus, however, also is 33 years old and still battling Sjogren's syndrome, an auto-immune disease that saps her energy and makes her tire more easily.

Caroline Wozniacki puts a curse on Rory McIlroy?

If Venus, currently ranked No. 30 in the world, decided she wanted to make one more singles run at some Grand Slam events, being relieved of playing doubles could give her some of that energy back.

Wozniacki, according to tennistuesday.net, has not played a doubles match since 2012 and has an 8-16 record in Grand Slam doubles events. But the chance to improve her net play and study from the world's best player would help her game immensely and give her a chance to challenge Serena for the No. 1 ranking that she held in 2010-11.

Besides, it was Serena who helped her get back on her feet after Rory McIlroy announced he had broken off their engagement and broken up with Wozniacki after getting cold feet.

"Miami was a lot of fun," Wozniacki said after defeating Sam Stosur at the AEGON International Eastbourne tournament on Tuesday, according to express.co.uk. "Serena and I had a good time with some of our other friends. It was nice to get away a little bit and then come back and feel recharged.

"I just love spending time with my friends and my family and the people closest to me. To be able to perform 100 percent, you have to have a clear mind and you have to want to get out there and practice.

"I felt like I needed it for a few days, and when I came back home I was ready. Right now I'm physically in good shape and I feel like I'm moving around the court well. I feel like I have the power behind the shots that I want.

"I would like to stay like this and hopefully the injuries will stay away. As they say, when it rains, it pours. So hopefully the pouring has stopped now."

And the re-emergence of Caroline Wozniacki has begun. She will play Camila Giorgi in the quarterfinals in Eastbourne after defeating Sloane Stephens in the second round.
