It appears that Roman Reigns will be the only member of The Shield that will continue to wear his traditional riot gear to the ring going forward. Rollins turned on Reigns and Ambrose earlier this month on Monday Night RAW, when he viciously attacked his former partners with a series of chair shots and turned heel.
It was rumored that Rollins would face Ambrose at Money in the Bank on June 29 at the TD Garden in Boston to provide the fallout to the events that transpired on RAW, but Rollins announced on Tuesday's episode of WWE Main Event that a second Ladder Match will take place at the show and he is the first man announced as a participant.
It's unclear how many Superstars will be in the second Ladder Match, but aside from Rollins the other members will be determined through a series of qualification matches.
Rollins revealed that in addition to the Ladder Match featuring Alberto Del Rio, Randy Orton, Sheamus, Cesaro, Bray Wyatt, Reigns and John Cena for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, there will be a second bout for a briefcase with a contract inside for a title shot within the next year at the show and he is the first man announced for the match.
It is likely that Ambrose will be added to the match as well as the match is expected to consist of up-and-comers in the organization and Ambrose is currently feuding with Rollins.
The original plans called for one Ladder Match for the briefcase and for Daniel Bryan to defend the gold against Kane, but after Bryan's recovery from neck surgery has come along slower than originally expected, the WWE had to change its plans for the event and put the title up for grabs in the first Ladder Match while adding another one.
Rollins and his new gear are marching on to Money in the Bank on June 29 where he will partake in one of the most dangerous matches of the year.
