Goals: None
It took more than 1,000 minutes of competitive football, but the 2014 World Cup saw its first tie of the tournament. Even worse, it's first scoreless contest. Of the 19 combined attempts from Nigeria and Iran, only five managed to land on target, the closest coming off the head of Reza Ghoochannejhad in the first half.
Goals: Ghana—Ayew 82’; USA—Dempsey 1' Brooks 86’
Despite being significantly out-played, out-matched and out-classed, the United States was able to earn a 2-1 victory over Ghana on Monday. A header from John Brooks in the 86th minute would give the Yanks the 2-1 win.
