LeBron James admitted the San Antonio Spurs were the better team in their 4-1 NBA Finals win over his Miami Heat. But James is just as convinced it could have been a better series if he had been able to do more to help his team.

"Obviously, I didn't do enough," the Miami Heat star and four-time league MVP told USA Today. "They were the much better team."

LeBron says body betrayed him

James finished Game 5 Sunday night with 31 points and 10 rebounds and still the Heat lost by 17. For the series, he averaged 28 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals and still the Heat dropped the last three games by an average of 19 points.

"That's team basketball and that's how team basketball should be played," James said of the Spurs. "It's selfless. Guys move, cut, pass, you've got a shot, you take it. But it's all for the team and it's never about the individual. That's the brand of basketball, and that's how team basketball should be played. Not disappointed in any of my teammates, just wish we could have come through, played a better series."

James has much to ponder this off-season, namely whether or not if he will opt out of his deal and become a free agent. Even if he stays in Miami, changes have to be made to a roster thin on depth and short on reserves.

Try as he might, James can't do it all by himself.
