San Antonio Spurs star power forward Tim Duncan, on the verge of his fifth NBA title, says he's not decided on his future.

As quoted by ESPN.com, Duncan said: "I don't have any plans on doing anything. I'm going to figure it out when it comes. I'm not saying I'm retiring. I'm not saying I'm not retiring. I'm not saying anything. I'm going to figure it out as it goes. I've always said if I feel like I'm effective, if I feel like I can contribute, I'll continue to play. Right now I feel that way, so we'll see what happens."

The Spurs star has played 17 season, all with San Antonio, and still has a player option next season that would pay him $10.3 million. He has defied Father Time, and has been consistent in the post season with the Spurs just one game away from the NBA championship.

On Friday, ESPN reported that Duncan has until June 24 to tell the team whether he intends to exercise the player option in his contract.

His coach Gregg Popovich, meanwhile, said he plans to return to the Spurs next season.

"I don't feel tired. I mean, I'm tired today, but I mean in general. I'd like to continue to coach," Popovich said a day before the Spurs meet the Heat for Game 5 of the series.

Whether Popovich will return to the Spurs bench despite Duncan's retirement is a question that remains to be unanswered. In the past, Popovich has said he'll retire the very moment that Duncan announces his retirement. Popovich is the only coach Duncan has had in his checkered career.
