Could Kobe Bryant soon join Phil Jackson and Derek Fisher in New York as part of the Knicks?

Former Lakers forward Rick Fox seems to think so and recently told LakersNation.com, "I would not put it past him. If there is not a real opportunity to win a championship there, the thought of him leaving may shock Lakers fans, but I wouldn't put it past him going in search of one or two more championships. Personally, I think it's going to get done in New York. I just believe in Phil. I've been around him and I know Kobe has had his greatest success with Phil."

Kobe Bryant beefing with Mike D'Antoni?

The 68-year-old Jackson took over as president of basketball operations for the Knicks in March and this week moved to hire Bryant's former backcourt mate Fisher as head coach.

While the two-year extension the 37-year-old Bryant recently signed with the Lakers was widely considered to be his last NBA deal, Fox may be on point in concluding Bryant may now be more comfortable with the power structure in New York than he has been with that in L.A. over the last several seasons.

Kobe Bryant cleared to start workouts

Though he only played in six games last season, Bryant and coach Mike D'Antoni never quite seemed to see eye to eye. Though D'Antoni is now gone, the organization may have alienated Bryant even more by publicly asserting he would have no role in deciding who will be the next Lakers coach.

L.A. is rumored to have already interviewed Alvin Gentry, Byron Scott, Lionel Hollins and Mike Dunleavy Sr. for its coaching opening.
