Maccabi Tel Aviv coach David Blatt is a hot commodity these days, with the Cleveland Cavaliers reportedly interested in getting him as their head coach after the Golden State Warriors were said to have contacted him for an associate head coaching position.

The Associated Press via Yahoo! Sports is reporting that the Cavaliers have contacted Blatt regarding their coaching vacancy. Blatt guided Russia to a bronze medal finish at the 2012 Olympics. However, he has yet to be interviewed by the Cavs.

The Cavs are among the few remaining teams to fill their head coaching vacancies, alongside the LA Lakers and New York Knicks. Most recently, the Minnesota Timberwolves, Golden State Warriors, and Utah Jazz have filled their head coaching spots. The Cavs went 33-49 last year and fired Mike Brown.

Blatt is widely regarded for his offensive schemes and led Maccabi to the EUropan championship. His team bannered by seven former NCAA players, Blatt upset the heavily favored CSKA Moscow and Real Madrid on its way to the title.

This week, it was also reported that he is being courted by the Warriors to become the top assistant to new head coach Steve Kerr.

The Cavs have quietly searched for a new coach, interviewing Clippers assistants Tyronn Lue and Alvin Gentry, ex-Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins, Bulls assistant Adrian Griffin and ex Clippers and Bulls coach Vinny Del Negro.

Whoever is named as Cavs head coach would have to lead the team back to the playoffs because of its young but promising roster led by All-Star Kyrie Irving and this year's top draf pick.
