Michael Carter-Williams has heard all the rumblings about him perhaps being on the trading block for the Philadelphia 76ers, even after winning the Rookie of the Year award.

And if his dramatic first season endeared him at all to management, Carter-Williams is now hoping they hear him loud and clear.

Michael Carter-Williams on trading block?

"I'm pretty confident that I'm not going anywhere for a little while," Carter-Williams told ProBasketballTalk.com. "I heard it and I didn't really pay any attention to it. I have a great relationship with the coaches and the GM here."

Coming off a rookie season in which he averaged 17 points, six rebounds, and six assists, the 22-year-old former Syracuse star's stock may never be higher. The Sixers nabbed Carter-Williams with the No. 11 pick in the 2013 NBA draft, but with two picks among the top 10 in this year's draft and seven overall Philly again seems to be on the verge of remaking itself.

Philly drops 20th straight game

Carter-Williams has three seasons left on his rookie deal, making him all the more appealing to any potential trade partner, though a history of shoulder injuries could raise concerns for some would-be suitors.

Whether Carter-Williams stays or goes, the Sixers, who are also expected to have the services of 2013 lottery pick Nerlens Noel this season, figure to big players by or come draft night.

Noel missed all of last season recovering from a torn ACL he suffered while still at Kentucky.
