Former WWE Superstar CM Punk quit the WWE back in January, but he hasn't publicly acknowledged his departure from the company until recently when he talked about being able to do fun things since he left the rigorous travel schedule of the WWE.

Update On Rey Mysterio And Christian's WWE Futures

Punk, 35, is a known Chicago sports fan and while talking about an appearance for the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field, he noted how much free time he has now that he is no longer a wrestler.

The "Best in the World" is a Cubs fan and he spoke to the Red Eye Chicago newspaper about being one of the celebrities that will appear at Wrigley Field to paint the ballpark seats as part of an art project that is planned to commemorate the 100th anniversary celebration of the stadium.

Undertaker Returning For WrestleMania 31?

Punk told the paper that "it felt good" to be retired at 35 in the first statements he's made about his status since his departure in January. Punk walked out likely due to being burned out and unhappy with the company's direction for his character.

Punk walked out on the WWE prior to the Monday Night RAW episode the night after the Royal Rumble and has shown no signs of returning despite the fact that his contract doesn't expire until July.

The former WWE Superstar said that he enjoys doing charity work and has also enjoyed his free time as he can do so many different things now that he is free from the WWE.

"I get to do fun stuff like bowl and paint chairs and play wiffle ball with Bill Murray," Punk said of what he does now that his time in WWE is over. "It was super fun and for a great cause. You've got athletes and actresses and musicians and all kinds of people painting chairs. I'm super happy to be a part of it."

The WWE had made conscious efforts to talk to Punk and bring him back for the March 3 RAW in Chicago and WrestleMania XXX in New Orleans, but after those events had passed and Punk didn't return, the company started to see it as though Punk walked out on them and it stopped trying hard to bring him back

The WWE presents Payback in Punk's hometown of Chicago this Sunday night, but with the "Best in the World" enjoying his free time, he is unlikely to return for his homecoming.
