Thursday night, the WWE presents the NXT Takeover special live on the WWE Network, and ahead of the big event for the company, WWE COO Triple H held a conference call to talk about the future of the brand.
Jim Ross Updates Q&A On His Blog
According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, Triple H said that the WWE isn't sure about the future of NXT having monthly specials on the WWE Network like the WWE does for its pay-per-views on it, but they will have quarterly specials and it could change in the future.
Triple H said he was happy with NXT and the talent in it, but also said that just because something works in the WWE's equivalent to the minor leagues doesn't mean it will transfer over to the main roster. "The Game" also said he likes WWE talents helping out the NXT talent, and mentioned Cesaro and Tyson Kidd as two Superstars that are helping out the talents in a positive way.
WWE Magazine Potentially Spoils Breakup of The Shield
Triple H said that NXT will get more publicity as the WWE Network grows, but he ruled out doing more NXT tapings every week due to how expensive it would be. He also mentioned that the WWE held tryouts in Brazil, Europe and the Middle East recently to find some more talent.
"The Game" also said that Vince McMahon is very happy with the growth of NXT and the fact that he was expecting a television show and ended up getting a separate brand, which is a good thing. McMahon was reportedly surprised at all of the buzz that NXT has received ever since the WWE Network was created.
