WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan's return after neck surgery has been up in the air, but reports indicate that Bryan may be ready to get back in the ring as early as Money in the Bank on June 29 in Boston.

WWE SmackDown Spoilers From Atlanta

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, Bryan is advertised for WWE live events in late June and he's also rumored take on Kane at Money in the Bank, possibly in the reported Buried Alive match that the two were supposed to have at this Sunday's Payback.

The match between Kane and Bryan had to be called off after the WWE Champion was forced to undergo neck surgery to repair an injured neck that suffered wear and tear over the last few year's due to Bryan's in-ring style.

New Match Added To Payback, Full Updated Card

Bryan underwent the surgery two weeks ago and was pulled from all advertised live events, but now it appears as though the WWE has started marketing him for events in late June. Bryan is slated to have an in-ring segment with Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley at Sunday's Payback pay-per-view as she's threatened to fire his wife Brie Bella if he doesn't forfeit the title.

Since undergoing surgery, Bryan's return date has been unclear with the best case scenario being a return for Money in the Bank next month and a worst-case scenario having Bryan on the shelf until August for SummerSlam.

The status of the belt has remained in question, but if Bryan is slated to return as early as the end of June, the WWE may drag out the storyline with him and McMahon and keep the belt on him. There were reports that the company would vacate the belt and have its top stars compete in a Money in the Bank ladder match to crown a new champion, but that may have changed given recent advertisements.

There were rumors that Batista turned down jobbing to Bryan at Payback when the idea was presented earlier this month before the champion's injury, however the claims have been denied. Batista is slated to take some time off to promote his upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie and will likely not return until August.

Monday's episode of RAW was likely the last time "The Animal" will be on the WWE's flagship program for another two months as he's slated to be out until SummerSlam after Sunday's Payback event where he will team up with Triple H and Randy Orton to battle The Shield in a six-man elimination No Holds Barred tag team match.

While Batista is seemingly out the door for a couple of months, it appears as though Bryan will return sooner than expected and possibly continue his feud with Kane at June 29's Money in the Bank event.
