Andre Johnson has built 11 years' worth of good will with the Houston Texans. Now, he is putting that good will to the test.

As expected, the Texans' seven-time Pro-Bowl wide receiver failed to show at the volunteer organized team activities on Tuesday, the Houston Chronicle reported.

According to ESPN.com, first-year coach Bill O'Brien echoed his sentiments about Johnson that he made two weeks ago about having positive interaction with the disgruntled wideout.

"I have a ton of respect for him," O'Brien said Tuesday. "We'd love to have him here now. That's up to him."

Apparently, little has changed for Johnson, who turns 33 in July, despite O'Brien's comments about constructive conversations.

"Nobody's been here as long as I have," Johnson said on May 13, according to the Chronicle. "You just kind of look at things; I've been thinking about things this offseason. And I just kind of wonder sometimes, 'Is this still the place for me?' "

The Texans took defensive end Jadeveon Clowney with the top pick of the 2014 NFL Draft that may not have sat well with the offensive-minded Johnson. With a bevy of quarterback available, the Texans waited until the fourth round to select a quarterback, Tom Savage of Pittsburgh at No. 135 overall.

That did not seem to satisfy the frustrated Johnson, who has enjoyed only two 10-plus winning seasons during his Texans tenure.

"When you bring a new coach in, you go through a rebuilding process," Johnson said. "Some people say it's not. Some people say it's a quick fix. Everybody has their own opinion. But I've been through the situation more than once.

"I just look at my career. ... I've only been to the playoffs twice. I think we've only had three winning seasons," said Johnson, who at least twice last season expressed his frustration on the field during games. "I don't think any player wants to experience that. I think over time it can become very frustrating. And this offseason has been very frustrating for me; beginning of the offseason, I should say. That's just kind of where I'm at right now."
