Chris Johnson has been rather quiet since signing with the New York Jets after being released by the Tennessee Titans. As the news of Johnson being out of Jet organized team activities broke, he spoke about the game he has circled on his calendar. His return to Nashville.

Johnson spoke Thursday after the news of his injured knee broke and said that he will be ready to go when training camp comes around. Johnson’s “fresh start” was much needed in his opinion and he cant wait to put on the green and white.

“It’s just a situation where I want to come in here and win,” he said. “I think I needed a fresh start, being with Tennessee for so long. Sometimes, a fresh start is good for players, so I feel like that’s something that I needed. Any time a player gets released from a team that he’s been with so long, he always wants to go out there and prove that team wrong for letting him go. It’s something else to put a chip on your shoulder and help you work hard, and extra motivation.”

Then when asked about the Jets’ Dec. 14 matchup against the Titans in Tennessee, Johnson said its something he has his eye on.

“Most definitely, I can’t wait for that game,”

Johnson has run for 1,000 yards or more in each of his first six season in the NFL and is entering his first season as a New York Jet. Johnson went on to speak about his expectations for the Jets and wants to return to the playoffs for the second time in his career. Johnson’s main focus while he is on the shelf rehabbing his knee is to get the Jets’ playbook down for the day he gets on the field.
