In a new interview, WWE Divas Champion Paige discussed her wrestling roots, The Rock giving her advice during WrestleMania 30 weekend, her Scorpion Crosslock finishing move, Mickie James and Stephanie McMahon as inspirations, and much more.

In the first part of the interview with WWE.com, Paige talked about when she first fell in love with wrestling when she was a child. Her father ran a training school every month and one day Paige filled in when one of the girls didn't show up. From that point forward, she knew she wanted to be a wrestler.

Paige then talked about her first and second tryouts with WWE. For the first tryout, she tried to be what she thought WWE wanted her to be, and it didn't work. For the second tryout, she kept in her piercings, wore all black and had the black hair to match. This was more of who she really is, and it worked for her and for WWE the second time around.

Here are some additional excerpts of the Paige interview below:

Paige on her Scorpion Crosslock Finishing Move:

"I grew up watching Bull Nakano, and she was amazing. She and Lita were girls I really looked up to. And seeing that submission, I thought, "I need to do this." It was so badass, so I gave it a try. Me and Emma knew each other so well, so I had to whip out something new. It fit perfectly. So I can thank Bull Nakano for it."

CB's Analysis: I love Paige's Scorpion Crosslock submission move, as demonstrated in the video clip below in one of her recent matches against the feisty Alicia Fox:

Paige on her Biggest WWE Divas Inspirations:

"Mickie James. I'm also a big fan of Kharma. I'd love to go face to face with her. Also, Stephanie McMahon. If Stephanie wants to go toe-to-toe, I'm ready.[Laughs]"

Paige on Advice she Received from The Rock:

"I actually got some good advice from The Rock, who took me aside the day of WrestleMania 30, right before my Raw debut. He knew the connection that my family had and how hard I worked, and he said, "I just want you to stay humble and hungry." Those words have literally been stuck in my head for the last month. Never be satisfied, but always be hungry."

CB's Analysis: That is great advice from The Rock, as staying "hungry" in pro wrestling is what keeps someone at the top of the card, where Paige currently resides today as far as the Divas division is concerned.
