Kyrie Irving not only had nothing to do with coach Mike Brown being fired, but wasn't even consulted about the move, according to ESPN.com.

Cavs owner Dan Gilbert announced on Monday the team was parting ways with Brown for the second time in less than four years and right away speculation bubbled the All-Star guard may have been behind the team's latest move. The Cavs decided to eat the remainder of Brown's four-year contract despite him being owed $20 million.

Kyrie Irving leaving Cavs?

The Cavs went 33-49 this season, but what was perhaps even more damning was the team displaying zero on-court harmony and a crippling locker room feud between Irving and backcourt mate Dion Waiters that reportedly led to them actually coming to blows at one point.

With Brown's ouster, the Cavs will now be seeking their third coach in as many seasons. Brown previously coached the team for five seasons, but was initially let go as part of the team's desperate attempt to keep homegrown native LeBron James in a Cavs uniform.

Kyrie Irving, Dion Waiters at odds?

The Cavs short list of replacement candidates is expected to include Steve Kerr, Mike D'Antoni, Alvin Gentry, Mark Jackson and George Karl.

Also on Monday, Gilbert announced the team has decided to hire David Griffin as the team's full-time GM, removing the interim tag he has held since mid-February.

The 13-year-old Irving averaged 21 points, six assists and four rebounds for the Cavs this season.
