Another suitor has joined the chase for the services of Manchester United's Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez.

Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez Will Bring 'A Lot of Goals' To Real Madrid?

The Daily Star is reporting an "ambitious" and imminent bid from Aston Villa this summer. The Birmingham side finished another underwhelming season, remaining in the bottom half of the Premier League table for a majority of the year. Hernandez would serve as an immediate upgrade for a club that averaged a pedestrian 1.02 goals per game in 2013-14.

Aston Villa, however, will have to stand in a line of potential suitors that include Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan and Tottenham. All three clubs have a reported interest in the 25-year-old striker.

A World Cup stage will only heighten said interest.

Hernandez was named to Miguel Herrera's 23-man roster for the 2014 World Cup on Friday, something he himself is eternally grateful for (h/t to ESPN). "He is the first coach to speak of it, of what I have done," Hernandez said.

"More than anything whether I have the goals or the statistics or not, the truth is I try to leave my heart and soul in the match. I commit to deliver everything I have," he added.

"I am truly grateful to him because he didn't have to support me. He is the coach and we all have to give our souls to earn a spot on the team, but we can't live in the past either."

A ticket to Brazil would help mend a disappointing season for Hernandez, one that didn't come with sufficient playing time. It's something he still desires (h/t to the Global Post). "I strive for that [to start more games]. I know that my performance on the pitch will allow me to achieve that goal someday either here in Manchester or elsewhere for any other club."
