The ascendancy of Cruz Azul's Marco Fabian continued on Monday, with La Aficion (via Goal) reporting that the 24-year-old has gained interest overseas. According to Fabian's agent, a German club is monitoring his talents.

Club America Outbids Chivas Guadalajara For Oribe Peralta?

The identity of said club, however, is yet to be revealed.

Fabian was named to Miguel Herrera's 23-man roster for the 2014 World Cup on Friday. The Mexican international made 15 league appearances for Cruz Azul this season, leading the club in goals scored (seven) despite not serving as the target man in Luis Fernando Tena's 4-2-3-1 formation. A dynamic attacking talent, Fabian completed 20 successful dribbles in 2014 at an above-average success rate of 67 percent.

For Herrera, there's no question he earned his ticket to Brazil (h/t to Terra). "He's an Olympic champion, a gold medalist. He took his game to another level and represents himself well as a player," the Mexican head coach said.

"He was widely responsible for the successful season Cruz Azul had," he added.

"He demonstrated his quality when we called him up and it's those moments that allowed us to consider him."

Fabian will be provided another stage to demonstrate his quality in 2014. An eye-popping performance in Brazil would only raise his profile, peaking the interest of the unidentified German club.

According to Transfermarkt, Fabian is currently valued at €5 million Euros. Unfortunately, that's €2.3 million less than the reported transfer fee America is prepared to pay Santos Laguna for striker Oribe Peralta.

Plying his trade in Europe, however, could prove to be a priceless endeavor.
