Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen famously arrived in Boston in the offseason of 2007 to team up with Celtics mainstay Paul Pierce and guide the Celtics to their 18th NBA championship the following spring.
But since Allen defected from the Celtics in 2012 to sign with the Miami Heat, Garnett and Allen haven't spoken to each other.
Asked if he's talked with Garnett over the last two years, Allen told the Florida Sun Sentinel: "No." Further inquired if he even tried to start a conversation with his former teammate, the league's all-time three-point king said: "No, no."
Allen appears not to mind that Garnett has been giving him the cold shoulder treatment, especially with the way he has been treated in Miami. As the former UConn standout said: "When I came here, everyone welcomed me immediately as part of the team, as one of their brothers. That's been my only focus since."
Garnett and Allen's games have been on the opposing sides in this Eastern Conference semifinals duel. Garnett, a former MVP in Minnesota and the Defensive Player of the Year in 2008 with the Celtics, has been a shadow of his old self with the Nets. He has scored just four points in two games against the Heat, going scoreless in the first game.
Meanwhile, Allen has been a consistent scorer off the bench for the Heat, contributing 16 points a game aside from six rebounds and 2.5 assists.
Will the Nets be able to recover from the 0-2 deficit against the Heat? Tell us @SportsWN.
