Adrien "The Problem" Broner seemed to get his career on the right path again in his last fight against an overmatched Carlos Molina--at least until he spoke. Broner called himself the "Can Man" in the post-fight interview and boasted that "anyone can get it."
Broner biggest payday for Lucas Matthysse?
In full he said, "Anyone can get it. Africans, I just beat the f**k out of a Mexican." Now he's been suspended by the WBC for his racially insensitive comments pending an apology or explanation of his remarks. The WBC released an official statement on the matter.
"Adrien Broner , former WBC lightweight champion has offended many persons of the world with his words during the interview after the fight vs Molina. The World Boxing Council holds human equality as its banner and will not accept a former WBC champion to make racially offensive statements."

The suspension doesn't look great, but the true misstep might have been calling out Manny Pacquiao. "As you can see I didn't really go through any trouble in the fight," Broner said. "It was a sparring match on TV. At the end of the day I'm still Adrien Broner. Anyone can get it, Africans, I just beat the [expletive] out of a Mexican. At the end of the day I don't make my fights; I'm just a fighter. I will fight anybody, and I want Manny Pacquiao before he leaves."
Broner looked good against Molina, but he dropped down to 140 lbs. from welterweight, where he struggled to get by Paulie Malignaggi and then was bludgeoned by Marcos Maidana.
De La Hoya, Arum close to ending "Cold War"?
Pacquiao may not be at the level he was in his ultimate prime, but he's still a lightning-fisted competitor with clear victories over Brandon Rios and Timothy Bradley in his last two fights. Meanwhile, Broner has proven to be a low-output offensive fighter with multiple holes in his defense and suddenly questionable power.
Before considering a living legend, Broner should focus on either Danny Garcia or Lucas Matthysse in the junior welterweight class, and test himself against them. He may be shocked at what he stepped in the ring with.
