John Cena has been the king of the mountain when it comes to WWE merchandise sales over the last few years, however gear for the late Ultimate Warrior a.k.a. Jim Hellwig outsold Cena in Internet purchases for the month of April and was the highest volume of merchandise moved in that month.

Sheamus Reportedly Involved In Backstage Fight With Sin Cara

Warrior, who passed away on April 8 just days after being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, topped sales for merchandise in April, Wrestlingheadlines.com reports.

According to the report, the order of highest amount of merchandise sold via the Internet by the WWE went The Warrior, John Cena, CM Punk Daniel Bryan, The Wyatt Family, The Shield, Evolution and Hulk Hogan. It's worth noting that Punk hasn't been with the company since January, but the WWE is still selling his merchandise and has even promoted new stuff for him.

Updated Plans On The Shield and Other Top Babyfaces and Heels

Cena still has the highest amount of goods sold at live events by a large margin. Around arenas, the best sellers have been in the order of Cena, Bryan, Randy Orton, Warrior, Rob Van Dam, The Wyatt Family, Batista and Sin Cara.

The Warrior was ostracized from WWE for a long time and had some bad blood with a lot of past Superstars, including Hulk Hogan, as well as WWE CEO Vince McMahon. The company even produced a DVD entitled The Self-Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior in which many past and present WWE personnel bashed The Warrior and his career.

The WWE and Warrior were able to make amends with each other this year, leading to a weekend of redemption that saw Warrior get inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on April 5, just three days before his death. He followed that up by making appearances at WrestleMania and Monday Night RAW for the first time in 18 years the following two nights.

On RAW, The Warrior made a chilling promo about life and death and the legacy legends leave behind. Warrior collapsed the following day while walking to his car with his family at an Arizona hotel and later died at the hospital due to what was later described as a cardiac event stemming from heart disease.

The WWE honored The Warrior on the following weeks RAW with a 10-bell salute and tribute video and dedicated "Warrior Week" to him on the WWE Network, airing a series of specials on him including a career retrospective that included cameras following him around during his Hall of Fame weekend in New Orleans.

The Warrior has passed on but won't be forgotten, and if his merchandise sales since his death are any indication, he left a lasting legacy on the WWE Universe.
