The ongoing soap opera that is Chivas Guadalajara took a new turn Tuesday morning.

The club is still in search of a replacement for the recently fired Ricardo La Volpe after he was fired for allegations of sexual harassment toward a member of the club's medical staff. That search, however, could potentially see its end in the coming days.

Ricardo La Volpe Undresses In Front Of Podiatrist?

ESPN's Tom Marshall is reporting (via an interview by Javier Alatorre) that Jose Manuel "Chepo" De La Torre is expecting to resolve his coaching situation in the coming days. The former Mexican national team manager has been off the sidelines since his poor World Cup qualifying campaign in 2013. A return to the club level remains his priority, with Chivas Guadalajara, Club America and Deportivo Toluca being the three clubs he aspires to coach.

Chivas, however, are currently the only ones with a vacancy.

De La Torre spent four years as a player with the club from 1984-88, having risen through the youth ranks. He would return in 2005 as a manager and led Guadalajara to a league title in 2006—its first in nearly a decade.

Should he return for a second stint, owner Jorge Vergara plans on providing him a bolstered squad (h/t to Goal). "To clarify, Ricardo La Volpe was not responsible for the results. He took over the team on the fly," Vergara said.

"We all bear responsibility for this season. In the end, we didn't meet our goal and we're working to rectify that," he added.

Vergara would go on to add in the interview that he anticipates to add six new players in the summer transfer window.
