Former TNA and WWE Creative writer Vince Russo spoke about whether or not he is still working for Dixie Carter as part of the TNA Impact Wrestling writing team in a new interview.
So, is Vince Russo still working for TNA Impact Wrestling as a creative writer?
According to TNAInsider.com, the always outspoken and controversial Russo had the following to say in a recent interview:
"First of all, just for the record, let me make one thing perfectly straight: my contract with TNA was over in February 2012. I do not have a contract with TNA that expires in three months. Where that information came from, I have absolutely no idea. I have not been under contract with any wrestling company since February 2012. So everything you read about 'Oh, he's with TNA and there's still three months left on his contract' ... Who pulled that out of their backside and why, I have no idea. I am under contract with nobody."
Despite those emphatic words from Vince Russo denying that he has a TNA contract, he still manages to play coy in his follow-up comments as to whether or not he is working for WWE or TNA or even Global Force Wrestling as a consultant:
"If I'm working as a consultant for TNA, if I'm working as a consultant for WWE, if I'm working as a consultant with Jeff Jarrett, you know what? I choose not to comment on that, because I'm just as fascinated to sit back in my house here in the mountains, in beautiful Colorado, and just see how two years and three months I have been out of the business, but yet every day I still seem to be the topic of conversation. And I am totally, totally entertained by that."
CB's Analysis: Vince Russo has never been shy about stirring the pot when it comes to professional wrestling both on camera and backstage. My personal belief is that even if Russo is still working for Dixie Carter as a creative writer or a consultant with TNA, he would never publically tip his hand. One thing I am confident about is that Russo is very likely not doing anything with WWE, as I just couldn't see him giving Triple H, Stephanie McMahon or Vince McMahon any creative input these days in WWE's TV-PG era. Exhibit A for that is below:
