The Cleveland Browns have two picks in the first round of the NFL draft, but that might not be enough for them. According to multiple sources the Browns are lobbying to get a third first round pick during Thursday's NFL draft.

According to MMQB’s Peter King, the Browns are looking to draft a playmaker at No. 4 overall and then the best player on the board at No. 26. The Browns would then trade back into the first round via the Seattle Seahawks pick at No. 32.

The goal for the Browns is to maximize the value of their first two picks and then to jump ahead of the Houston Texans to claim their quarterback of the future. The Browns would bring in two top 25 players and then a quarterback they think they can hand the keys to the franchise to at No. 32.

The Browns are looking to make a splash in the draft and are going all in on the premise that grabbing the best player on their board will be better for the franchise's future than reaching for a quarterback at No. 4. I happen to agree with this strategy and think it would put the Browns in prime position to be a sleeper candidate in 2014.

Other news and notes via Peter King:
- Tennessee Titans will go corner in the first round at No. 11 and quarterback in the second round.
- Cincinnati Bengals like Teddy Bridgewater and would consider him at No. 24.
- Jacksonville Jaguars are playing safe with Sammy Watkins or Jake Matthews and No. 3.
- Falcons, Texans trade unlikely and Khalil Mack to the Texans rumors will not fade before draft.
- Seattle Seahawks want to move back from No. 32 to save money for veteran contracts.
- Minnesota Vikings will take their chances with a quarterback at No. 40 and not No. 8.
