Disgraced NBA owner Donald Sterling doesn't have any plans of going away quietly.

TMZ Sports is reporting Sterling is now on "a hunt to hire a major L.A. law firm to sue the NBA." First-year commissioner Adam Silver recently imposed a lifetime ban and $2.5 million maximum fine on the league's longest tenured owner after audio from one of his racist rants where he tells a girlfriend "not to bring back people to my game" was made public.

LeBron avoided Clippers because of Donald Sterling?

According to the website, Sterling's camp has already made contact with such heavyweight firms as Glaser Weil and Quinn Emanuel Urquhart and Sullivan. Reportedly, Weil's lead litigator, Patty Glaser, also represented Paula Deen in her race-fueled suit involving the Uncle Bubba's Seafood and Oyster House, in which she ultimately admitted to frequently using the N-word.

Sterling, who has owned the Clippers since 1981, has previously been sued by Hall of Famer Elgin Baylor, who claimed race and age discrimination in a suit he filed in February 2009. The 79-year-old Baylor spent 22 years as Clippers GM.

Larry Johnson wants all black league?

Since word of Sterling's ban has spread, several prominent celebrities have emerged to express at least a preliminary interest in buying the team. Magic Johnson, Oprah Winfrey, David Geffen, Larry Ellison and Diddy head the list of prospective new owners.

Forbes Magazine recently pegged the franchise's worth at $575 million and speculation is sterling could net at least a $1 billion profit in any sale.
