For the first time since the audio recording scandal broke off, disgraced LA Clippers owner Donald Sterling spoke about the issues confronting him saying he should have just paid off her ex-girlfriend V. Stiviano.

As ESPN is reporting, Sterling spoke to DuJour.com about the scandal which was released by TMZ.com last week and set off a turbulent week for the entire NBA. According to DuJour.com, Sterling said about Stiviano: "I wish I had just paid her off," referring to the woman he was speaking to on the audio conversation.

ESPN said that the interviewer, Jason Binn, described Sterling as being remorseful.

The controversial owner has kept his silence since the NBA banned him for life, with commissioner Adam Silver urging the league's owners to force the sale of the troubled franchise. Silver also fined Sterling $2.5 million on Tuesday.
ESPN's sources also confirmed earlier reports that Sterling has cancer.

After news broke that the league was forcing the sale of the Clippers, numerous personalities have expressed interest in purchasing the team which is in the middle of a heated first-round play-off matchup with the Golden State Warriors.

Among those who have claimed interest in buying the Clippers are boxing superstar Floyd Mayweather, Jr., musician Sean Combs, celebrity Oprah Winfrey, and real estate tycoon Rick Caruso. Lakers great Magic Johnson has also been reported to be interested in buying the Clippers. Interestingly, Johnson was mentioned in the audio recordings with Sterling urging Stiviano to avoid bringing black people to Clippers games.
