WWE Hall of Famer Bruno Sammartino has had his well-documented issues with the WWE, but he was able to make amends last year and become a member of the Hall of Fame much like The Ultimate Warrior was able to do this year. Sammartino was in New Orleans for WrestleMania XXX weekend earlier this month and he described The Warrior's condition that weekend.

The Warrior had a tumultuous past with the WWE and Vince McMahon, including the WWE having made a DVD bashing his career entitled The Self-Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior in 2005. The two sides were able to put the bad blood behind them and make amends which culminated in Warrior going into the Hall of Fame the night before WrestleMania XXX.

Sammartino -- who made amends with the WWE in 2013 and went into the Hall of Fame after years of turmoil -- spoke with Wrestling365 Talk Radio about seeing The Warrior in New Orleans for the Hall of Fame.

"He was walking not well," Sammartino told the radio program about Warrior at the ceremony. "When he came to speak he didn't seem right."

Sammartino said that he didn't have a chance to speak with The Ultimate Warrior during WrestleMania weekend but he felt concerned for him because The Warrior was limping a lot and sweating throughout the weekend.

Sammartino was vocally critical of the WWE due to its programming becoming crude, violent and involving a lot of scantily clad women in a change of direction from his career, however after the WWE turned PG the company was able to bring him on board and he was happy to become a part of the organization again.

"It was good very, very good. I sure appreciated the changes they made," he told the radio show.

Sammartino noted that he was happy that the company cut back the profanity and that there drug testing is stronger than ever which were reasons he stopped distancing himself from the WWE.

The Warrior was inducted into the Hall of Fame Saturday night April 5 and then appeared at WrestleMania and Monday Night RAW over the next two nights for the first time in 18 years. On RAW, Warrior cut a chilling promo about how every man dies and about the legacy they leave behind.

Warrior collapsed the next evening when walking to his car along with his family at an Arizona hotel and eventually passed away at the hospital due to complications stemming from heart disease.

The Warrior passed away following a weekend where he was able to celebrate his career and life as a WWE legend while making amends with the company. The WWE aired a tribute to him on Monday Night RAW and celebrated his life the week after his death with "Warrior Week" on the WWE Network which featured footage of him during WrestleMania weekend in a special on his career.
