Hall of Famer Magic Johnson wants LeBron James to participate in the NBA dunk contest so badly that he offered the Heat superstar $1 million to participate. "Please, LeBron, get in the dunk contest. I'm going to put up a million dollars," Johnson said on ESPN's Kia NBA Countdown Friday night. "A million dollars from Magic to LeBron. Please get in the dunk contest. I go every year. I want to see you out there. A million to the winner."

The NBA currently pays $100,000 to the winner and $50,000 to the runner-up. James has yet to compete in the annual event and has garnered criticism for his decision to decline the invitation to the event.

On Thursday, James decided to continue his pregame dunk routine in Heat warmups, despite hearing negative responses due to his dunk contest absence. "I don't do it for anyone besides our team," James told ESPN. "We came up with something to say, 'Let's get warmed up even more.' We're happy our fans love it, and we're going to continue to do it. It's something we enjoy. It's something that gets us up for the game."
