Does Lamar Odom need a psychiatrist?

Fellow New York City playground legend and 14-year NBA veteran Kenny Anderson seems to think so. With Odom set to join Phil Jackson and the New York Knicks next season after a 2013-14 league hiatus, Anderson is advising the former NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award winner to make sure he's coming back for all the right reasons.

Lamar Odom signs with Knicks

"Does he have love for the game, or is he just playing for a check?" Anderson told TMZ Sports. "I talk to a therapist once a week. Lamar should do that. His mind has to be right."

Certainly, the last several months have been a troubled time for the 34-year-old Odom now in the midst of a much publicized divorce from reality TV wife Khloe Kardashian. Over the last year, Odom has been arrested on DUI charges, spent time in a drug treatment facility and saw three women publicly insist they engaged in affairs with him.

Are Lamar and Khloe over?

"You need someone you can talk to who has no hidden agenda," Anderson added of why he's convinced it's the right move for Odom. "Your mom, dad, brother, sister might not want to tell you the truth. I don't care if people think it's manly or not."
