Former TNA World Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles was interviewed by the Baltimore Sun this week as Styles is in town promoting an upcoming Ring of Honor wrestling show this Saturday.

During the Q&A session, Styles did not hold back on all of the negative TNA rumors surrounding his former employer, inferring that TNA is a mismanaged company and speculating as to whether or not TNA will go out of business soon based on all of the high profile cuts they made last year when letting Styles, Sting and Hulk Hogan go.

When asked about all of those negative TNA rumors that have been swirling around while he was the face of the company and after his contract was not renewed, Styles said, "You know, I really don't know. I know they've made a lot of cuts. That must mean they're not doing so well. Sting gone, Hogan gone, myself gone, and I'm sure we're going to see more cuts soon.

"From what I've heard and been told, it's been horribly mismanaged as a company. I don't know if they're going out of business. But they're definitely doing things that make people think they're going out of business. And I hope they don't. I hope TNA doesn't go out of business because I have a lot of good friends that work there and deserve to be in the national spotlight. My hope is that they never go out of business."

On the TNA rumors generated mainly by TNA wrestling fans that AJ Styles leaving Impact was a worked storyline, AJ explained, "By now I think most have figured it out. But they believed that because they can't believe that this guy, the guy that was known as the TNA guy, they can't believe that they would let me go. Literally, they let me go. I don't think they went out of their way to make things work. I tried, but it's just hard to believe."

I agree with every single one of AJ Styles' comments here. He was the face of the entire TNA Wrestling franchise and it was a huge shock to the system to see him leave the company. The only thing that surprised me more was that WWE didn't snatch him up, but with Triple H heading up Talent Relations and WWE's focus now on developing their own talent from WWE NXT and the Performance Center in Orlando, I guess it just wasn't going to happen.

At the same time, WWE could have made an exception for an exceptional talent like The Phenomenal One, especially since two of their top stars and one of their rising stars - Daniel Bryan, the recently departed CM Punk, and Cesaro - all came from a similar Indy background as AJ Styles. The same can be said for Seth Rollins of The Shield as well.

At the end of the day and like AJ Styles I truly hope that TNA doesn't go out of business, that Ring of Honor keeps growing and that Jeff Jarrett's new promotion Global Force Wrestling takes off.

Meanwhile, if AJ Styles comes to your town, make sure you grab a ticket to see one of the best wrestlers of this generation in action.
