The New York Knicks are out of the playoffs and All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony already seems to have one foot out the door.

According to the New York Post, word on the street is Anthony recently grilled a former Bulls player and Tom Thibodeau disciple about what it's like to play for the hard-nosed, defensive minded Chicago coach.

Carmelo Anthony not waiting on Knicks

It's a virtual certainty that Anthony will opt out of his deal with the Knicks this summer and become a free agent his summer with the Bulls, Lakers and Rockets are expected to be among his primary suitors.

Even though Phil Jackson and the Knicks can offer Anthony at least $30 million more than any other team, the Bulls are considered by many to be the frontrunners for the NBA's second leading scorer based on Thibodeau's expertise and the team's ability to team him with a core that could include Derrick rose, Joakim Noah and Taj Gibson.

Despite having Rose for just 10 games this season and being without the traded Luol Deng since before the trading deadline, the Bulls still rate as the Eastern Conference's No.4 seed and are assured of hosting at least one playoff round series.

Is Melo a franchise player?

Anthony and Thibodeau are expected to have the added chance of improving their relationship this summer when both are set to be apart of Team USA squad competing in the world cup.

"Thibs is a great coach, his system kind of reminds me of Gregg Popovich's system," Anthony recently told ProBasetballTalk, com. "You put anybody in that system and it's going to work. That's what they've been doing."
