The World Wide Leader in Sports owes Colin Kaepernick an explanation.

Deadspin.com reported that during ESPN's report of the investigation into San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick's "suspicious incident" involving a woman at a residential condo in Miami, SportsCenter used two different head shots of Kaepernick in the report.

According to Deadspin, the initial ESPN report included a head shot of Kaepernick in his 49ers uniform. The following SportsCenter report on Kaepernick, however, switched to a photo (above) of Kapernick in street clothes.

The airing after that reverted to Kaepernick in his uniform, but the switch was made back to the street clothes and then back to his uniform one more time.

It's a bizarre side story to an already puzzling incident involving Kaepernick.

TMZ Sports originally reported that Kaepernick was a suspect in a sexual assault case. But a police report that Deadspin published stated that the woman who was in a condo with Kaepernick, 49ers teammate Quinton Patton and Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Ricardo Lockette. Alcohol and drugs were involved and she stated she ended up naked in a bedroom with Kaepernick but said she did not have sex with Kaepernick.

She lost consciousness and work up in a hospital the next day.

ESPN has not explained the different head shots, and both Deadspin and AwfulAnnouncing.com are questioning the two different head shots. Deadspin even is asking for information as to why ESPN would do that.
