Aaron Hernandez murder trial update: Carlos Ortiz won't testify against former Patriots tight end, attorneys preparing defense [VIDEO]

Prosecutors have handed over a list of all the evidence gathered against Aaron Hernandez associate Carlos Ortiz stemming from the first-degree murder charges the former New England Patriots tight faces in the Odin Lloyd case.

With Ortiz thought to be no longer a possibility to testify against Hernandez, prosecutors reportedly turned over documents ranging from written, recorded and written statements given by Ortiz and now requested by his attorneys so that they might be able to lodge a defense for their client.

According to NECN.com, prosecutors have also agreed to hand over any "promises" or "rewards" they've made to Ortiz.

The 27-year-old Ortiz faces accessory charge to murder charges in the execution style killing of Lloyd and has remained in custody since being jailed last summer.

Meanwhile, the 24-year-old Hernandez also remains jailed without bail and relegated to solitary confinement in the Bristol County Jail. Police have speculated Hernandez may have killed Lloyd based on his knowledge of other violent crimes Hernandez is alleged to have been involved in.

Hernandez is also a suspect in a 2012 double, drive-by slaying in downtown Boston that remains unsolved.
