With WrestleMania XXX now in the background, there has been talk within the WWE about what will happen at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view event on May 4 at the Izod Center in New Jersey, and there is speculation that Evolution may reunite to take on The Shield in a six-man tag team match.
WrestleMania XXX review: Reflecting on a historic night in WWE history
With last night's Monday Night RAW ending in a standoff between heels Triple H, Randy Orton, Batista and Kane and babyfaces WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan and The Shield, it has been speculated that Batista Triple H and Orton will reunite under The Evolution moniker and take on The Shield in a six-man-tag at Extreme Rules.
According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, the idea has been pitched to have a six-man tag team match between those sides, however while the May event makes sense for the location of the match that has not been confirmed.
Will The Undertaker retire following the end of The Streak at WrestleMania XXX?
It will all depend on who takes on Bryan for the title at the event. Orton would seem logical since he lost the title at WrestleMania XXX without being involved in the decision. If that's the case, then perhaps Kane would be shuffled in for Orton into the six-man match, but that remains to be seen.
Wrestlingheadlines.com also reported that there has been an idea to have a War Games match between The Shield and Evolution or between all eight participants that battled to end Monday night's show, though Vince McMahon has been opposed to doing that type of match in the past.
Regarding Sting, reports indicate that Sting likely won't appear on WWE television for a long time, likely not until WrestleMania 31 time next year. He was always expected to face The Undertaker at that show, but now that 'Taker lost The Streak to Brock Lesnar and could even be retiring, that is up in the air.
It was rumored Sting may appear live or in a vignette either on WrestleMania or Monday's RAW, however it appears as though since he didn't make any appearances the feeling is he'll be held out until the buildup for WrestleMania 31 in 2015.
