The Charlotte Bobcats earned the second playoff berth in their 10-year existence after beating the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday night. The playoff berth is also the first since the Bobcats broke through in the postseason in 2010.

"This is a significant accomplishment for our group of guys, and it puts us in a different place in the league," head coach Steve Clifford told ESPN. "The guys in the locker room are excited -- and they should be -- because we've got a good group of guys and a group of guys who are truly deserving."

The win also pushed the Bobcats over .500 for the second time this season, solidifying their hold on the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference.

Guard Kemba Walker was among those emotional after the Bobcats finally made the playoffs.

"Words can't describe it. For me, Gerald (Henderson), and Biz (Bismack Biyombo), we were the original guys here. We were on the worst team my first two years, so to go from there to here, it's like night and day."

"This means a lot, individually and as a team," Henderson said. "I thought we would be good, but I think we've exceeded everybody's expectations -- even our own."

One of the least successful franchises in the NBA, the Bobcats started in the league in 2004. It's only playoff run was in 2010 when it finished with a 44-38 record, the first time that they had a winning record. The team is scheduled to be renamed as the Hornets next season.
