Chris Bosh is among those advising the reeling Indiana Pacers to take a deep breath and gain better control of their emotions.

Emotions were so high in the Pacers locker room that during their 103-77 beatdown loss to the visiting San Antonio Spurs Monday night, teammates Lance Stephenson and George Hill had to be separated after getting into a heated spat during a second half timeout.

Miami Heat don't want Danny Granger

Bosh insists he could have told the Heat's Eastern conference arch nemesis from the beginning they were investing too much emotional currency too soon.

"That's what we've been saying for the whole time," Bosh told BleacherReport.com.said. "You know, that's why when the Pacers were talking, 'hey, No. 1 seed, home court' it's like, hey, it's August. Calm down a little bit. We know how it is. We know it's a marathon. That's one of the conversations you have to have amongst yourselves, and it's a reason to go out there and play hard every day. Saying it to everybody, shouting it from the mountain top, that's not our style."

After leading the East all season long, the Heat now find themselves looking up at the Heat for the conference's overall top record. The Pacers finished the month at 8-10 and are now just 13-13 over their last 26 games.

"Our work is just beginning," added Bosh. "Cause, I mean, we can still lose it. We have to keep concentrating on what we've been doing, look to see how we can improve our play. We're gonna have a shot. That's all we need. One shot."
