The Philadelphia Eagles have signed former New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez, according to USA Today Sports.

Terms of the deals were not announced, for the 27-year-old quarterback, who has gone 33-29 in four seasons with the Jets, including four road playoff wins over his first two years.

Sanchez missed all of the 2013 season with a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder that he suffered in a preseason game coach Rex Ryan reinserted him in during the fourth quarter.

In Philadelphia, Sanchez is expected to serve as a backup to Nick Foles, who finished with 27 touchdown passes and just two interceptions on his way to an NFC East title last season. The Eagles also have former USC quarterback Matt Barkley on the roster.

During this week's NFL owners meetings, Chip Kelly told reporters "I think Mark is a very, very good athlete. He's started 60-plus games in this league. He's got great experience. There's a lot of positive qualities to him."

The Jets previously announced they have signed the former Eagles quarterback as as a projected backup and mentor to Geno Smith. "It's a position of need for us, said Kelly. "We played three quarterbacks last year. I don't think you can look at your roster and ever say, 'We're good at quarterback.' "
