Wow. What an incredible weekend of basketball and March Madness was indeed in full effect. A number one fell, seven double digit seeds advanced out of the round of 64 and three are going to the Sweet 16. March Madness is the one event that keeps America glued to their seats from noon to midnight for four days in March. Looking forward some news and notes for the West Region.

Games:
No. 1 Arizona vs. No. 4 San Diego State:
The Wildcats haven’t really been challenged yet but SD State has. Arizona is the better team on paper. I don't think SD State can keep up with what the Wildcats bring to the table and it could be one of the more lopsided match ups of the Sweet 16.
Prediction: Arizona 65-SD State 54

No. 6 Baylor vs. No. 2 Wisconsin: This matchup is much more interesting and could go down to the last shot. Wisconsin was dead in the water against Oregon and came back to prove they are a legitimate contender while the Bears blew Creighton’s doors off early and often. I like the upset here and the Bears become a sleeper Final Four team.
Prediction: Baylor 60- Wisconsin 58

Region Favorite: Arizona is still the favorite, but Wisconsin or Baylor could cause them some problems. Let’s see how the Wildcats look against SD State and re-evaluate the status of their championship chances. Arizona needs to be tested before they can be called the overall favorites, but they have show their legitimacy before.

Region Notes:
Wow Creighton, just when everyone started to believe you could be the sleeper of 2014 you laid an egg against Oregon. It was heartbreaking to see Doug McDermott check out of the game for the last time into his fathers arms. Creighton is in good hands and McDermott has a NBA career to look forward to.
