Two clubs in opposite halves of the Premier League table will do battle today in a league match between Aston Villa and Stoke City. The first-division clash scheduled for 12 p.m. ET will be held at Villa Park in Birmingham and can be live streamed here free.
Aston Villa enters today's match with an opportunity to do something they haven't in nearly seven years. The Midlands outfit haven't won three consecutive matches at Villa Park since 2007. That, according to manager Paul Lambert, is staggering and long overdue (h/t to Alex Fisher on Goal). "I find it a staggering stat," the Scot told Villa's official website. "To not have won three on the bounce for seven years is incredible, it's far too long. We are playing well enough to do it. We are at home obviously and the last two matches at Villa Park have been very good," he added.
"I believe Villa haven't had three consecutive wins since 2010 [in the Premier League, both home and away], either. It's far too long for things like that to happen for a club this size."
Will Lambert's men finally put to rest their woeful streaks and stay in the top half of the Premier League table? Tell us @SportsWN
