Two clubs in opposite halves of the Liga MX table will do battle today in a league match between Club América and Veracruz. The first-division clash scheduled for 7 p.m. ET will be held at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City and can be live streamed free through Univision Deportes mobile.
Despite entering tonight's match seventh in the Liga MX table—the club was sixth before the start of Week 12—América have won just one of their last six Liga MX matches. Manager Antonio Mohamed is under intense scrutiny, regardless of the fact that the club would still qualify for the Liguilla. Forward Rubens Sambueza responded to the negativity surrounding the club during the week (h/t to Tom Marshall on Goal). "We are sixth and you'd think we were last," Sambueza said.
No, América aren't last, but the Tiburones Rojos de Veracruz are. The club sits 18th in the Liga MX table with a miserable nine points and minus-10 goal differential. Will América be able to get back on track with such a patsy opponent walking through their doorstep?
