ESPN SportsNation host Michelle Beadle is wasting little time in criticizing her once favorite NFL team for signing veteran quarterback Michael Vick.

"Looks like mama is on the market for a new football team," Beadle tweeted late Friday, soon after the New York Jets announced they has signed the veteran quarterback to a one-year, $5 million deal. She later added "oh, and any mention of getting over dog fighting is an automatic block. You do you, chicadees."

Jets want Michael Vick to compete with Geno Smith

In 2007, Vick was sentenced to 23 months in federal prison after being convicted of funding an interstate dog fighting business. The 10-year veteran has spent the last three seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, where in 2011 he passed for more than 20 touchdowns for the second time in his career.

NESN.com reports Beadle was receiving a flood of angry responses from followers after she later added the "Vick's fan base is who we thought they were."

Since his conviction and serving his sentence, Vick has issued countless apologies and even worked with several organizations to combat animal cruelty.

In signing Vick, the Jets also announced they had released veteran signal-caller and one-time starter Mark Sanchez. Vick is now expected to compete with second-year QB Geno Smith for the team's starting spot.
