Two clubs chasing UEFA Champions League glory will do battle today in a cup match between Real Madrid and Schalke 04. The Round of 16 clash scheduled for 3:45 p.m. ET will be held at the Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid and can be live streamed here.
For Real Madrid, today's match is a mere formality. The club emphatically thrashed German outfit Schalke 04 in the first leg of this Champions League battle 6-1. Not even a miracle would be enough to keep Los Blancos from advancing to the quarterfinals. With La Decima and the Spanish league title in sight, manager Carlo Ancelotti believes this is the most complete squad he's ever had the pleasure of overseeing (h/t to Matt Law of the Sports Mole). "I've managed several squads with a lot of quality and so it's difficult to make a comparison but this one has a little of everything," he told reporters at a press conference. "It has experience, youth, character, personality," he added.
"You could say that this is the most complete squad I have ever worked with."
Ancelotti previously managed the likes of Juventus, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain, but is on the cusp of achieving something far greater with the most expensive brand in the world of football.
