Lamar Odom admits he is "a little embarrassed" that his Spanish pro league team run lasted just two games before injury forced him to the sidelines

"But at the same time, I'm proud to be able to say that I'm hurt and I have a team that understands that I'm injured and is still supportive," Khloe Kardashian's estranged husband told Yahoo! Sports. "That means a lot. It helps me on and off the court, because it puts confidence in me, saying, 'Somebody believes in you this much that we're going to say, 'Go ahead and take care of yourself, and we're going to sit here and wait for you to get better, become a better man.'"

The 34-year-old former NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award winner is back in the states and recently underwent a medical exam in New York that revealed he suffers from a back condition known as lumbar radiculitis that is expected to keep sidelined for at least two months, more than the length of the short-term deal he signed with Baskonia to play the rest of their season.

In all, Odom played just 23 minutes over two games for Baskoni, which held open the possibility he might someday return to the franchise.

"Baskonia is confident that Odom's recovery process will be positive and leaves open the possibility of resuming the commitment once he has overcome his injury," team officials said in a statement. "Saski Baskonia would like to thank Odom for his involvement during the time he has been in Vitoria, and leaves open the possibility of resuming the relationship depending on the development of his condition in the coming months."

While in Spain, Odom openly held out hope that he and Kardashian might be able to reconcile their relationship and now that he is back in the states some are speculating he may now turn his attention to patching up their relationship. The 29-year-old Kardashian filed for divorce from her NBA husband last December amid persistent rumors he had cheated on her with several women.
